06. Customs Clearance Rules

07. Import document requirements

1. Customs clearance in the name of American consignee

Preventive measures:
1. No matter which of the above two customs clearance methods is adopted, the Tax ID (Tax ID, also known as IRS No.) of the consignee in the United States must be used for customs clearance.IRS No. is the tax number registered with the IRS by the consignee in the United States.
2. In America, you can't clear without Bond and you can't clear without tax number.
Customs clearance process under such trade
01. Customs declaration
After receiving the arrival notice, if the customs broker prepares the documents required by the customs at the same time, it can apply to the customs for customs clearance within 5 days after preparing to arrive in Hong Kong or inland.Customs clearance by sea usually notifies you within 48 hours of release or non-release and air within 24 hours.Some cargo ships have not yet arrived in Hong Kong, so the customs decided to inspect them.Most inland points can be pre-cleared before the arrival of goods, but the results will only be displayed after the arrival of goods (that is, after ARRIVAL IT).

(3) Inland delivery goods to inland, after customs clearance, the shipping company will give a PICK UP #, and the agent will inform C/after receiving PICK UP #, and the truck company will PICK UP the goods with this number.This number has to wait: A, when the goods arrive at the yard to load and unload the train, B, after the customs release, C, after the shipping company release, you can get it.If you lack anything, you can't get it.Therefore, it takes a long time for C/to track inland goods before receiving PICK UP #.
Simply put, the United States acts as an agent for importing goods (Import cost from China) as follows:
A.Receive the agent's documents (including: 1 + B/L, MB/LCOPY + D/C NOTE) and enter them into the computer.
B.One week before the arrival of the goods, they began to ask SSL or CO-LOADER for the arrival notice, so the loading port OP must write the arrival date on D/C NOTICE, which is beneficial for the US agent to check the arrival date.
C.Upon receipt of an arrival notification from SSL or CO-LO, enter it into the computer and send it to C/and their customs broker on the same day (if you know who it is).
D.After receiving the original bill of lading or ocean freight from C/or customs broker, send the freight and the original bill of lading we need to pay to SSL or CO-LOADER by express delivery or express delivery, usually within 24 hours.If there are ICs, send them to SSL or fax them.

This LCL service has short delivery time, convenience and quickness.Generally, powerful shipping LCL companies will only provide this service.Transhipment means that the goods in Container are not in the same destination port, and need to be unpacked and unloaded or transshipped in the middle.Due to different destination ports, long waiting time for such goods and other factors, the shipping cycle is longer and the shipping cost is higher.
2. LCL goods generally cannot be designated by specific shipping companies.The shipping company only accepts the booking of the whole container cargo, and does not directly accept the booking of the LCL cargo by sea.Only through freight forwarders (some powerful shipping companies through their logistics companies), LCL goods can be booked with shipping companies after LCL by sea.Almost all LCL goods by sea are transported through "centralized loading and unloading and centralized distribution" of freight forwarding companies.Shanghai Port is basically the port of LCL distribution in East China.
Due to the limited supply of goods, the general freight forwarders can only book space from several shipping companies, which rarely meets the needs of designated shipping companies.It can't meet the requirements when consigning.
3. When negotiating transactions with customers, special attention should be paid to the relevant transport terms, so as to avoid the other party finding that the transport terms cannot be met when opening a letter of credit.
4. The billing tons of LCL goods should be accurate.Before shipping LCL goods, the factory should be required to measure the weight and size of the goods as accurately as possible.When the goods are delivered to the warehouse designated by the freight forwarder for storage, the warehouse will generally re-measure and pay for the re-measured size and weight.
If the factory changes the packaging, it should be required to inform the factory in time.Don't wait for the goods to be delivered to the freight forwarder warehouse before giving feedback through the freight forwarder.Often time is running out.If the customs declaration documents are changed, it is easy to delay customs declaration or produce urgent customs clearance fee.And Hong Kong fees.
5. In some ports, due to the shortage of LCL goods and high cost, freight forwarding companies specializing in LCL business adopt the lowest charging standard for small-volume goods.For example, the minimum point of departure is 2 freight tons, that is, every ton below 2 freight tons will be charged at the rate of 2 freight tons.Therefore, for goods with small size and partial port, we should consider these factors more when trading, so as to avoid being passive in the future.
